Born in Istanbul and raised in New York, Ceyda returned to Istanbul after completing her B.A. in Anthropology at Boston University to work as assistant director to Reha Erdem. She then worked alongside producer, Chris Auty at The Works International in London, where she oversaw a slate of international co-productions, including John Hillcoat’s The Proposition and Vincent Ward’s River Queen. She returned to the US to produce and direct, co-founding Termite Films with Director of Photography and producing partner, Charlie Wuppermann. They released their first feature documentary Kedi with Oscilloscope Laboratories in 2017 to critical and box office success in the US and internationally.
