Jacqueline Volmer is a key member of Chubb’s Entertainment team for the Western Region, located in Los Angeles, California. Having spent 13+ years in Chubb’s Entertainment Unit and almost three decades in the industry as a whole, Jackie is a seasoned underwriter whose primary responsibilities with Chubb include evaluating and creating global risk management and insurance solutions for specialty entertainment operations – including film and episodic production companies, theatrical venues, talent management and rental and post production houses.
As a Senior Entertainment Underwriter, Jackie’s focus is on the underwriting analysis and profitable pricing of entertainment business – both prospective and renewal. She has been instrumental in the development of tailored insurance programs for the production operations of Alcon Entertainment, The Weinstein Company, Dreamworks, New Regency Productions, Annapurna Productions and Skydance Productions. She has also provided insurance solutions for countless independent producers.
Jackie’s educational background includes a BA in Communications; emphasis in Radio, Television and Film from California State University, Fullerton. During her college years, Jackie worked as a projectionist for AMC Theaters. She also did her college internship working for 21st Century Film Corp., reading and critiquing film scripts. After graduating, she followed in her father’s footsteps and got a job in insurance, never thinking she would put her degree emphasis to use. Once hired at Chubb, she was elated to find a specific division that was focused on providing insurance to film makers. Now she reads film scripts for a living.
In her free time, Jackie enjoys seeing movies and musicals. She attends the Palm Springs Film Festival every year. She is dedicated to her field and works hard, so her dog Buster can have a better life.
