Spencer Griffin is an Executive Producer of Adam Ruins Everything (TruTV), Hot Date (PopTV), CollegeHumor (YouTube), I Want My Phone Back (Facebook & Comcast), Bad Internet (YouTube Red), Comedy Music Hall of Fame (IFC), Rhett and Link’s Buddy System (YouTube Red), Fatal Decision (go90), The Middle of the Night Show (MTV), and The Britishes (Audience).
Spencer is currently a Creative Executive for Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, the production company behind Robot Chicken (Adult Swim), Supermansion (Crackle), and more, where he founded and leads the Live Action division.
As SVP and EP for Big Breakfast, Griffin helped grow the video department, which has earned the comedy brand over 12 million YouTube subscribers and 20 Webby Awards. He was recognized with a Webby and Telly Award for his co-direction and production of a rap video starring a rapping First Lady Michelle Obama.
Griffin has also produced for Jason Bateman and Will Arnett’s comedy enterprise, DumbDumb, which was the 2012 recipient of the One Show Entertainment Gold Pencil for online branded entertainment.
Before joining CollegeHumor, his production of the one-man play, Catalpa, received a five-star rating at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and won the LA Weekly Theatre Award for Best Performance.
A graduate of The University of Iowa, Spencer founded a performance space/art gallery, Public Space ONE, which is still open, 15 years later. His original play “Shoes: the Musical” was selected for publication in The University of Iowa’s Best Plays Anthology.
Spencer has been a speaker at SXSW, Just For Laughs, ATX, Future of Television Conference, Social Media Week, and more.
Spencer is a member of the Producer’s Guild of America, a Clippers season ticket holder, a certified ESL instructor, and an Upright Citizen’s Brigade graduate. He’s also a minister in the Universal Life Church and is a two-time godfather. Spencer lives in Hollywood with his partner Lauran and their dog Thelonius.
