Sherry Thomas

Sherry Thomas is an award-winning Casting Director for Television, Film and Theater. Her recent television credits include The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu in which she received her second Emmy Nomination for Casting in a Drama Series, the critically acclaimed dark comedy series, Barry on HBO, Vice Principals on HBO, Better Call Saul, The Walking Dead, and Fear The Walking Dead on AMC.  Currently, Sherry is thrilled to be collaborating again with Danny McBride on his new HBO show, The Righteous Gemstones in addition to Mrs Fletcher also for HBO with writer Tom Perrotta and directer Nicole Holofcenor.  Recent Films include: Irreplaceable You (GuGu Mbatha-Raw, Christopher Walken, Kate McKinnon, Jacki Weaver, Bryan Tyree Henry), Arizona (Danny McBride, Rosemarie DeWitt, Seth Rogan, Kaitlin Olsen), and Boss Level (Frank Grillo, Mel Gibson, Naomi Watts),

Favorite past television credits include: Breaking Bad (AMC), Terriers (FX), Phil Spector (HBO), The Unit (CBS), Jericho (CBS), Mind of the Married Man (HBO), and her first casting assistant position, Home Improvement.

Sherry had the privilege to cast five consecutive seasons at the La Jolla Playhouse under the artistic direction of Des McAnuff.  During that time, she cast what would become one of Broadway’s biggest hits of all time, Jersey Boys.  Other theatre credits: Race, The Farnsworth Invention, The Anarchist and The Wiz.

She has 13 Artios Award nominations including 3 wins for The Handmaid’s Tale, Breaking Bad, and Jersey Boys.  She received her first Emmy nomination for Breaking Bad‘s final season.  She was the recipient of the 2011 Media Access Award for her commitment to casting actors with disabilities.

Sherry is the Thomas in Bialy Thomas & Associates a company she has co-owned with Sharon Bialy for 15 years and counting.
